Eek! That's quite the little artist you have! I will never forget the time my son drew all over my MIL's brand new leather couches with a ball point pen.
lol! Okay, some practical tips... On the cloth furniture (do the covers come off to wash?) you can use hair spray or bug spray to help get rid of the ink - also grapefruit seed extract but you will want to do the entire settee - just add a teaspoon of it to a litre of water in a bowl and use a cloth to clean it - use the hair spray first, though.
On the walls... Well, if it isn't a gloss surface you can also use bug spray or hair spray but they could cause damage to gloss so try it on an inconspicuous spot first. On the gloss surface you can use the GSE and water but rinse it afterwards.
I hope this helps lol! Not sure how to remove it from the little monkey! lol!
So......exact same thing happened here Thursday and Sunday! Julia colored in her entire face in blue, non-washable marker. My neighbor has the pictures- I'll send them when she emails me. Sunday am Rich comes upstairs and said Julia had gone down stairs, taken her clothes off, colored herself in, and then drew stripes all over the couch. We need to get these two together- they think alike!!!
Yeah, it at least happens here! Magic Eraser has nothing on my kids! only 8 coats of paints covered the marker on the wall. It was 'washable' marker even! Right now there is red marker on our couch that Ike decided to do over the weekend.
it could have been bright pink nail polish or fire engine red tempra paint...Caelia is more into color for her artwork...But don't they look cute when they get caught?
I think that artist lives here too! Yes it has happened in our lives and ashamed to admit more than once!! Of course it has been varying levels of artistry some more covering more territory than others! As for removal from the monkey I put mine in a bath and after soaking for a while I used rubbing alcohol on a a cotton ball and then dipped that body part immediately in the water to rinse! After bath slathered with lotion!
I feel your pain and I'm laughing along, too. (Only with Molly it wasn't ink. She got her "art supplies" from her diaper. I seriously think I blacked out when I saw it!) -Crystal
Okay, I have to admit that I laughed really hard at these pics, I know, because it wasn't my house right? But yes I think everybody goes through it at least once!!!

our toddlers got ahold of an ink pen and drew all over our pale sage green leather chair.
ReplyDeleteguess what? it completely faded and disappeared over time. it's in a bright sunny room - i'm not sure if that had anything to do with it.
so sorry about all the clean up ahead.
Yikes! I better keep a close eye on Victoria when she gets this age! Ha!
