OH MY!!!!! A mom's worst fear (OK, not really THE worst). Hope her hair grows fast. She's still adorable - and I bet she looks great in headbands - hehe :)
OMG, did your stomach sink to your knees when you walked around the corner? She is gorgeous no matter what her hair style! Do we hear a cosmotology career calling for Payton?
Such a right of passage for kids, she is such a doll, no one could pull that new hair-do off like your Nika. Loved the picture of the hair on the ground, it gave us an idea of how MUCH your not-for-hire hair dressers cut! ;) You'll laugh about this some day!! :) lol
I am so sorry, we had that same pile of hair on our floor in our house. My older daughter did that to her little sister. Oh, I cried and cried and cried... and then confiscated all the scissors w/ the lecture that scissors are for paper only. The thing was I should have known... it was way too quite. I knew they were playing with their toy hair stuff and I should have checked on them. A couple of weeks and Nika will be able to wear clips in her hair.
oh bethany! i hope payton took your advice to RUN! :) Nika can definitely pull of the look better than anyone who has ever "rocked the mullet" - i can't believe how much hair payton actually cut (the picture of the pile of hair on the floor says it all!) hope nika will let you put clips or headbands in while it is growing back (i have a friend who makes cute hair things if you need some extra clips in the mean time: http://www.sweetpeaclips.com CODE: friends = 15% off i think) thanks for keeping us entertained and nika was such a sport to smile so cute for the picture you posted!!! she looks adorable, even with a mullet!!!
Oh no....looks like with a little training Payton make a great hair dresser one day....just not today! Here's hoping her hair grows fast, but if not she is still a doll!
Oh Lord! Will she wear bows or maybe headbands-I make some cute headbands;) I think bangs are in her future for a while. She's still a cutie though;) I feel for ya.
This is a milestone to remember! Two of my girls did this, to themselves, when they were Payton's age. I can laugh now, but I cried the first time it happened.
OMGosh Bethany! I know exactly how you felt the moment you saw this. My 4 yr old (3 at the time) decided to give himself bangs. He has the most beautiful long & curly hair. Hmmm, bangs......not so much!! My husband was horrified when he looked in the garbage to see a ton of long banana curls lying in a bunch on the bottom. We laugh about it now, but we most certainly were not laughing then. Elijah's lucky both of his eyes are still in tact.
However, knowing all the humor that is yet to come, that is some major hand/eye coordination. I am thinking, you might want to sleep with one eye open....lol:)
Lucky for you, Miss Nika is definitely rockin' the mullett!!!
i wwould love to know how you handdle this kind of situations :) in my head i have what i would do with Elias lol but im not sure if i could contein myself

ReplyDeleteOh wow! Kind of torn between laughing and crying. She is probably the only person ever to wear a mullet and still look 100% adorable!

ReplyDeletePlease don't kill Payton... we love her! LOL I would cry for sure!
ReplyDeleteI am NOT going to laugh because if I do it's going to come back to me x10! (running to hide all the scissors now!)
ReplyDeleteWell I guess Payton is pretty good at using scissors? :) Lol
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOODNESS! I think I am going to hide all scissors, Emily can't afford to lose any hair!
ReplyDeleteLAUGHING OUT LOUD!! Poor Payton!!

ReplyDeleteoh crap! That is one of my fears with my girls. ;) When I was 3, my brother cut off one of my pigtails at the rubber band. My mom was horrified.
ReplyDeleteMullet or not, she is still gorgeous!
Well, when I say Nika's picture it reminded me of my girls. I guess we're mullet peeps lol!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, her cuteness can totally pull it off.
This is a milestone to remember! Two of my girls did this, to themselves, when they were Payton's age. I can laugh now, but I cried the first time it happened.

Oh Man! Thank God she didn't poke her eyes out by accident. Still, she's gorgeous.

She's still a beauty queen regardless of the mullet!
