I have always dreamed of the day that I would be able to have mother/daughter time with my daughter(s) doing girly things ... shopping, getting a pedicure, whatever.
After Payton was born and diagnosed with Down syndrome, my dreams were sort of pushed further out. I mean, the reality is that it takes my girls longer to gain interest in these types of things.
But today ... dang nab it ... I decided it was time.
So Payton and I headed out to get pedicures.
And when we got there, I noticed they had just got two new chairs for kids ... how cute is that?! One small problem ... Payton would not let them come anywhere near her.
Not near her.
Not near her feet.
In fact, I'm pretty sure they were not even allowed to look at her. Ha. Stinker.
So I was the only one who ended up with pretty toes today, although if Payton had her way ... they would not have been able to touch my feet either. I think she thought they were going to hurt me -- she got so mad at them!
Today my gift of giving was to give myself a pedicure with my daughter ... even if she did not oblige.
Oh my goodness! Bless her heart! Don't you just want a reader board that explains what is going on inside their sweet little minds? It must have been scary in there!
ReplyDeleteHaha, this happened with me and my mom, but at a haircut place. I sobbed on the floor until she left with wet hair.
ReplyDeleteDang nab it! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really cool place to have pedi chairs for kids! Nice try, Mom. Maybe next time!
I still have never had a Pedi.. I really need to get to that one of these days!!
ReplyDeleteI"m with you Bethany....can't wait to take my girls with me for a pedi. Even though she wouldn't let them touch her (or look at her) I'm sure she enjoyed her "mommy time". :)
ReplyDeleteToo funny. Piper loves to give me pedicures - to the tune of 15 coats of glitter polish some days!
