For the first 12 days of December, I am hosting the 12 Days of Giving here on my blog. For more information on what this is all about or how you can participate ... click here.

Today I gave my sincere thanks and appreciation.
After Payton was finished with speech therapy today, her therapist came out to tell me all the things that Payton did in therapy. She was raving about her ... telling me how great she is doing and how amazing it is that she does something new for her therapist in every session.
I just got all teary eyed.
The proud factor that this momma has is through the roof. Payton's speech has taken off --- comparatively --- and her potty training ... she has just amazed me. In less than three weeks, she has gone from being in pull ups to being in undies and taking herself to the potty here at home ... unprompted.
She has grown into such a big girl and I'm not sure how I missed that!
Anyway, I proceeded to give my thanks and admiration to Payton's speech therapist for all that she has done for us. Payton really responds to her and even though our therapist is young ... her wisdom is infinite. As I wiped the tears from my eyes and she patted my knee ... I told her that I didn't know if Payton's speech surge was because of the gingko, or if it is because she is nearing four years of age (I have heard many people say their kids with Down syndrome really had a speech surge after age four) --- or what it was from --- but that I knew her involvement is part of it.
And for that I'm thankful.
Thanks for continuing to point out the different ways we can all give. Between your blog and my mommas I'm reminded of little things I can do each day to give!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to hang out with the kids on Saturday :)
